Observations From The Great Controversy

gc cover

I recently took on the challenge to read the entire book ‘The Great Controversy”. The paragraph below is my attempt to summarise the book:

“The Great Controversy describes the war between Christ and Satan. Satan wants to be “like the most high” ,  so God allows him to go ahead to prove himself! The inhabitants of the earth (humanity) have been key players in the drama since the garden of Eden and will continue to play a role all the way through history into the future. The poor condition of our world today is the result of Satan’s attempt to prove himself. The final act of this drama will bring about the greatest division the world has ever seen. There are only two sides, Christs or Satan’s. Satan in an attempt win the favour of many will carry out his master piece deception, just like he deceived Eve in the garden of Eden. Mankind is to choose which side of the drama to be found on. The past, the present, and the future are presented vividly in this book, read the book to find out more”.

The truth found in the Great Controversy needs sharing

The truth that Christ is coming should be kept before every mind.—Letter 131, 1900. {Ev 220.5}

Then will be opened before him the course of the great conflict that had its birth before time began, and that ends only when time shall cease. The history of the inception of sin; of fatal falsehood in its crooked working; of truth that, swerving not from its own straight lines, has met and conquered error—all will be made manifest. The veil that interposes between the visible and the invisible world will be drawn aside, and wonderful things will be revealed. {Ed 304.3}

Could the veil which separates the visible from the invisible world be swept back, and the children of men behold an angel recording every word and deed, which they must meet again in the judgment, how many words that are daily uttered would remain unspoken, how many deeds would remain undone. {GC 487.1}
