How long would it take to read the Book of Revelation? I’ve decided to create a graphic which will tell you just how long it would take to read each chapter of the book.

Sometimes it may appear that the bible would take longer than anticipated to read. However when you break a book down into individual chapters you start to see that you could easily read a chapter a more. Of course to truly understand the deeper lessons of the bible you would need more effort than just reading the book in one setting, but the graphic below will at least give you an insight into the time required to read a chapter. The reading time is based on average reading speed.

What is the book of revelation really about?

The book of revelation is one of those books that many deliberately avoid reading. At surface level it may appear that the book is very confusing, with no apparent structure, too much symbolism, and hard to understand, but at its very core the book is actually a ‘revelation of Jesus Christ’. The bible reaches its climax in this last book bringing together the entire story of scripture to an end.

Fun facts about the book of revelation

  • Of the 404 verses, 278 can be drawn from other books of the bible.
  • There are total of 22 Chapters
  • The phrase the revelation of jesus Christ is found three times in total in the bible, for example see 1 Peter 1:7

How long does it take to read the bible?

Audio bible’s last about 76 hours so if you’re willing to go through the bible in one sitting that’s an option.

Realistically though, it would be more wise to use a reading plan and spend a few minutes each day reading the bible.

  1. I think a lot of people, Christians included, need this post, to help them realize that reading the Bible is not that difficult a task. Like the riddle says, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!!” God bless you!
